Can You Volunteer?

Action is privately funded and operated by responsible caring animal lovers.

Our Society is always in need of volunteers who are willing to donate some of their time on weekdays, or evenings, or weekends, to help in the daily management, rescuing, fund raising, and rehabilitation of the animals in our care.

What you’ll receive from Volunteering:

Volunteering is very rewarding.
You meet others who share your interest in animals.
Gain experience and training in how to work with, and care for different breeds of animals.

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES:

Administrative	Assist with filing, phone calls and other office projects
Adoption Assistant	Assist with adoption procedures and encourage people to adopt
Animal Care Assistant	Feeding, cleaning, bathing, grooming, etc, in order to help the animals feel better about themselves and have a greater chance of being adopted
Animal Exercise Assistant	Dog walking, playing with cats and small animals, massaging sick and injured animals

SPECIAL PROGRAMS:

Education Assistants	Assist with programs at community events to educate about the importance of spaying & neutering, and general care of pets
Friends for Seniors	Arrange visits to Retirement Centres, Nursing Homes and Hospitals to allow residents and patients to interact with animals for therapeutic and social reasons
School Program Coordinator	Arrange visits to Schools and Child Care Facilities to educate children on the responsibilities of owning and caring for their pets
Fund Raising & Events Planner	Plan, coordinate and arrange local fund raising events, such as food drives, yard sales, walkathons, dinners, dances, barbecues, contests, car washes, plant sales, bake sales, etc
