Sponsorship Program

What is it?

Sponsoring allows animal lovers who are unable to keep a pet of their own, or who would like to give additional help to Action, the opportunity to sponsor their own specially chosen animal in need. This can be done with a preauthorized monthly or annual contribution.

Why are some animals sponsored, while others are for adoption?

Animals that require sponsorship are those pets that are not adoptable due to illness or injury. These animals will live the rest of their days out at the Action For Animals in Distress shelter. They will receive all the medical attention necessary for them to live out their days comfortable with the volunteers at the shelter. Of course, this becomes a financial drain on the society, so the more sponsored pets we have the more pets we will be able to assist in the future.

How can I sponsor an animal in need?

You may choose to sponsor online via monthly or annual installment. These transactions are processed through PayPal Secure online services. Or you may choose to print our sponsorship form and mail or fax it to the below address. Please be sure, in both cases, to tell us if there is a specific animal you would like to sponsor. You will receive bi-annual updates and communications about your sponsored fur-baby.

If you wish to sponsor a special animal, please send us an e-mail so that we can make arrangements to send you your Certificate, Sponsorship document, bi-annual reports, donation receipt and photographs of your personally chosen new friend.

If you would prefer to send us your information by mail, or are paying by cheque or money order, and if you would like a tax receipt, please print the sponsoring form and fill it in, send the form back to us and wait for your sponsor package to arrive. (It should take approximately three weeks.)

Please be sure to include your full name and address with your sponsor donation so that
we can make arrangements to send you your Certificate, Sponsorship document, bi-annual reports, donation receipt and photographs of your personally chosen new friend.
